Plastic Turned Parts & CNC Machined Components

UK manufacturer of low to high volume turned plastic components, supplying to a wide range of industries.

Sheldon Precision machines plastic turned parts and components on the same sliding and fixed-head CNC lathes we use for metal, from prototype quantities through to ongoing production runs. Because we can match the process to the part, thin or slender plastic components that would deflect on a fixed head can be run on the sliding head instead, close to the point of support.

We regularly machine acetal (Delrin), nylon, PTFE, polycarbonate, acrylic, PEEK and HDPE. Each behaves differently on the lathe: acetal and nylon machine cleanly and hold tolerance well, making them the usual choice for bushes, rollers and wear parts; PTFE and PEEK suit high-temperature and chemical-resistant applications; acrylic and polycarbonate are used where clarity or impact resistance matters. If you’re not sure which grade fits your application, send us the drawing, and we’ll advise.

As a North Devon precision engineering company, we handle plastic machining alongside our metal turning, so multi-material assemblies can come from a single supplier.
